Job Summary
Glendale Community College is currently hiring for a seasoned, proactive Sr Windows Administrator in the Information Technology Department.Under the direction of the IT Director, this role administers the latest Windows server technology to ensure reliability and high-level system performance.Additionally, this hands-on role will have the opportunity to influence Windows and Unix based server administration through participating in, and at times leading, college-wide projects and staff.
Essential Functions
45% Installs, supports, secures, and maintains Windows and Unix based servers (physical and virtual); evaluates and resolves moderate to complex issues and customer concerns; researches and makes recommendations for additional efficiency of server administration; responds to and documents service outages in an Active Directory environment
20% Supervises, trains, and evaluates assigned staff; directs staff recruitment as needed, identifies staff training needs, and presents professional development and growth opportunities
15% Researches, evaluates, and provides recommendations for hardware and software enhancements; develops and updates policies, procedures, and standards focused on system administration; implements best practices and adheres to college and MCCCD IT standards and directives.
10% Acts as technical lead and subject matter expert in medium-to-large-scale and / or complex technical projects; drafts, edits, and finalizes corresponding project documentation; develops high quality technical documents for knowledge base and training tools.
10% Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution in information technology or related field with four (4) years of system and application administration experience in an area related to assignment.
Associate’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution in information technology or related field with six (6) years of system and application administration experience in an area related to assignment.
High School Diploma / GED and eight (8) years of Windows administration experience
