Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for an acute care hospital position requiring at least 1 year of experience and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a short-term acute care hospital with 285 staffed beds
  • Provide therapy across hospital floors including ICU, step down, oncology, medical, surgical, neuro / tele, and ortho units
  • Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday with 8-hour shifts, with occasional weekends and possible holiday coverage
  • Epic is used for charting, and Epic experience is required for certain units
  • No floating to other facilities or units required
  • No on-call duties required
  • Scrub color is pewter
  • Responsibilities include providing daily physical therapy treatments across a variety of inpatient units
  • Weekend and holiday work may be required as scheduled
  • Proper facial hair groom required for fit testing
  • No more than 7 days of requested time off permitted per 13-week contract, and none allowed during the first week of orientation
  • Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • Travelers may work up to 18 months with a required 3-month break thereafter
  • Pewter scrubs are required attire
  • No parking cost for staff
  • References from supervisors within the past two years preferred

    • Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of recent acute care physical therapy experience required
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Valid state PT license required at time of consideration if applicable
  • Experience in ICU, medical / surgical, and supported units preferred
  • Proficiency in Epic EMR required for some units
  • Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
  • First-time travelers are accepted
