Windows System Engineer (Chicago)

Our client is seeking a Systems Engineer to support and enhance its Microsoft, virtualization, and cloud infrastructure in a fast-paced trading environment.

Responsibilities

Administer core Microsoft services (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Exchange / Exchange Online, Group Policy).

Deploy and maintain Windows Server (20162025) and Microsoft cloud services.

Configure SSO and federation using SAML, OAuth / OIDC, and SCIM.

Manage VMware ESX / vCenter and Horizon VDI environments.

Handle operational tickets, support planned / ad-hoc changes, and follow change-management standards.

Maintain clear documentation for systems and configurations.

Requirements

3+ years experience with Windows Server or VMware environments.

Scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, Terraform) and familiarity with Git-based version control.

Solid understanding of network protocols and server hardware / VM deployment.

Strong documentation habits and a process-driven mindset.

Ability to troubleshoot production issues in a high-intensity trading environment.

Base salary between $160,000 - 2000,000 + bonus
