• Summary The CNC Setup Operator is responsible for set ups, adjustments, preventative maintenance and operation of computerized numerically controlled (CNC) lathe machines.
• The successful candidate will be committed to the highest level of integrity, trust and responsibility and bring a hands-on approach to day to day operations.
• Essential Duties and Responsibilities Set up and operate computerized numerically controlled (CNC) machines.
• Change cutters when tools are dull.
• Inform Manager of machine and production problems.
• Perform part inspection checks.
• Attend training activities, as required.
• Participate in continual improvement teams, as required.
• Participate in safety and OSHA training.
• Keep work area clean and tidy at all times.
• Work in an organized manner with attention to details.
• Basic data entry computer skills.
• Ability to understand blueprint reading.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both written and verbal in English.
• Help operators with issues.
• Qualifications, Education and Experience Graduation from high school or receipt of equivalent degree (GED).
• Five years of experience working with CNC lathe machines or certification from a trade school.
• CNC lathe programming a plus.
