Staff Engineer I - ETL / Database Engineer

Western Alliance Bank is seeking passionate, results-driven SQL / ETL developer to deliver innovative, industry leading solutions. We want a creative, highly motivated developer who can take initiative, have good sense of urgency and is comfortable working in a fast paced, agile environment.

Responsible for the development and deployment of data extracts, transformations, or loads, supporting the ingestion and transformation of data as needed using Azure Data Factory and SSIS packages.

Provide database administration support for on-perm and cloud databases

Work with different teams to understand complex business logic and design ETL process

Deliver data warehouse ETL processes designed by data architects in SSIS & SQL stored procedures

Develop reports using SSRS & SQL stored procedures

Analyze and provide suggestions to tune database stored procedures to ensure optimal performance

Troubleshoot and fine tune database configurations, ETL processes and SQL code for optimal performance

Maintain database standards

Contribute to continuous improvements of the existing applications

Conduct code reviews

Develop SQL server stored procedure to implement business logic

Follow Banks processes and procedures for each development cycle

Maintain Documentation patterns for all the applications

Adhere to all data security and integrity policies

Actively participate in all aspects of the software engineering process

Efficiently work in Agile environment

Must have 5+ years of Experience in SQL development.

Must have 5+ years hands on experience in ETL design and development using any Microsoft SQL server ETL tools or Informatica.

Must have 4+ years in database administration.

3+ years' experience in Azure data factory.

Good understanding of data cleansing, normalization, standardization, enrichment, fuzzy match techniques and data governance concepts.

Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Outstanding SQL and data analysis skills.

Experience in analyzing and building reports / dashboards using BI reporting tools such as Power BI.

Experience in BI development, database development and SQL Database.

Good understanding with development life cycle, data architect and related methodologies.
