We anticipate a day in the life of a designer includes designing and architecting new tools for the Medtronic robotic‑assisted surgical system, leveraging Qt Creator tools, and implementing GUI features. You will collaborate with other software teams and contribute to software process activities.
A Day in the Life
Medtronic strives to enable earlier diagnosis, better treatment, faster complication‑free recovery, and enhanced patient outcomes through less invasive surgical solutions. The Robotic Surgical Technologies Business Unit set the standard for Robotically Assisted Surgery (RAS) by creating innovative surgical products and services that focus on surgical procedures of diseases and conditions.
You will join a team of mechanical, electrical and software engineers responsible for further development and enhancement of the globally launched Medtronic’s Robotic Assisted Surgery platform beyond commercial launch and production scale‑up.

Working Conditions
Standard Office setting in the Fort Point District of Boston, MA. Work within a commutable distance to our Boston / Seaport office with the option to work remotely one day out of the week, as business needs allow.
This position requires a person to be able to lift small loads and maneuver in laboratory spaces for accessing the robotically‑assisted surgical equipment when testing.
Work travel is anticipated to be low for this position; some travel may be required for software design, collaboration, meetings, or debugging offsite.

Benefits & Compensation
Medtronic offers a competitive Salary and flexible Benefits Package. Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD) : $122,400.00 - $183,600.00.
This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
