The Direct Care Staff is responsible for assisting, overseeing and instructing young parents with parenting skills and activities of daily living to ensure a safe and positive living environment. Direct Care Staff is responsible for always maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries while fostering a positive and mentoring relationship with young parent families.
SHIFT : Thursday 10pm-8am Friday 11pm-9am Saturday 10pm-8am
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Responsible fortheday-to-dayoversight oftheresidentsof the program to ensure a safe and comfortable environment.
- Must be alert and responsive to recognize and respond to emergency situations quickly,appropriatelyand effectively.
- Transport residentsinagencyprovidedminivan,as plannedto various locations in the Merrimack Valley and the Boston area. Transporting residents in the agency minivan to all Service Plan related taskstotaling at minimum one to two work hours per shift.
- Assistand instruct residents in the activities of daily living and parenting skillsutilizingtheDCF sponsored PAYA (Preparing Adolescents for Young Adulthood)curriculum.
- Enforce program rules and regulations. Modelappropriate behaviorforyoungparents.
- Ensure that program policies and procedures are followed and report problems to theProgram Director, Assistant Director andthe On Call Administrator in a timely manner in accordance with program policy.
- Assistwith the implementation of Service Plan tasksfor each young parent family.
- Complete all documentation, incident reports, emailed end of shiftreports and daily logs ina timely,clearand professional manner.
- Implement Med. Management Program as directed by the ProgramRN.
- Supervise all meal preparations prepared byyoung parentsandensurethat all children are fed anutritious mealat designated times.
- Provide oversight andassistancetoensurethat allcommon areas,bedroomsand bathrooms of the facility are cleaned properly andmaintainedin a safe and healthy way.
- Participate in monthlystaffmeetingandbiweekly supervision withtheAssistant Directorand orProgram Director.
- Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality at all times.
- Attendance at internal and external meetings andtrainingasrequired.Complete 24 hoursof professional developmentyearly.
QUALIFICATIONS
ABachelor’sdegree inarelated fieldwith prior related work or volunteer experience.Or,anAssociatesdegree withthreeprioryearsofexperience working with adolescents in a similar environment.CurrentCPR and First Aidtrainingcertification.Experience with de-escalation skills.Must understand andmaintainprofessional boundaries and confidentiality.Demonstrated ability to work with a varied and occasionally difficult client population.Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with attention to detail.Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.Bilingual, bicultural, Spanish, Khmerspeaking abilitypreferred.Good computerskills withMicrosoft OfficeSuite anddata baseapplications.A valid Massachusetts driver’s license andgood drivingrecord.Ability to lift,pushand pull up to 10 pounds withoutassistance.Our benefits are competitive and include a 403(b) savings plan and generous time off (benefits may vary based on position and scheduled hours ).

The base pay range reflects what Catholic Charities reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this role at the time of posting and may be modified from time to time.
