Direct Counsel is representing an Am Law 20 firm seeking a Project Finance Associate (3-5 years) to join its top-ranked Energy Advisory practice in either New York or Washington, D.C. This position pays at the Cravath scale, with opportunities to exceed it through a merit-based compensation structure. Position Overview
This is an exceptional opportunity for a mid-level associate to join one of the most active and innovative renewable energy project finance teams in the world. The firm is known for representing major industry players-project sponsors, tax equity investors, lenders, utilities, and developers-across a full spectrum of clean energy transactions. The team leads high-stakes deals in wind, solar, storage, and other energy transition assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead or support project finance transactions involving renewable power and energy transition assets
- Draft and negotiate key deal documents including purchase / sale agreements, tax equity investment agreements, credit agreements, and joint venture documents
- Manage sophisticated clients and fast-paced timelines in complex, high-value deals
- Collaborate across the firm's top-tier energy, tax, corporate, and regulatory groups
Qualifications
3-5 years of experience in project finance, preferably in renewable energy or energy transitionDemonstrated experience drafting and negotiating core financing documentsExcellent academic credentials from a top-tier law schoolStrong written, analytical, and communication skillsAdmission to the New York or Washington, D.C.
