The Computer Aided Manufacturing Department is currently seeking an adjunct faculty member to teach Welding courses for the upcoming term. Principal AccountabilitiesAdjunct faculty teach curriculum developed by the departmentPlan and organize instruction in ways which maximize student learningPrepare and provide syllabi for all assigned sections in accordance with department and divisional policiesEmploy appropriate teaching and learning strategies, use available instructional technology when appropriateModify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse student’s needsSupport classroom and online efforts to promote student successEvaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promote learningMaintain accurate records of student progressSubmit final grade rosters according to established deadlinesMaintain confidentiality of student informationAdjunct Faculty cannot be assigned to teach more than the maximum of 12 credit hours per semesterRequirements
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in the Computer Aided Manufacturing or related field required, OR must meet the specific requirements associated with Tested ExperienceTested Experience Requirements :
Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent required ANDMust have widely accepted license or certification in the industry (ex. Journeyman card) required ANDMust have a minimum of five years of work experience in the field requiredCollegiate or university teaching experience specifically teaching a course in the field preferredDemonstrated commitment to improving student learning through innovative strategies shown to help students succeed at the course and program levelEffective communication skills and interpersonal skills with the capacity to work successfully in a culturally diverse college communityMust possess demonstrated skills in using modern educational technology, including multimedia-based instructionOfficial transcripts for all post-secondary degrees (if applicable) and successful completion of a background check will be required prior to date of hire.
