WHAT YOULL BE DOING

The CNC Specialist is a key position in our Metal Tech operation. Working in a metal shop you will set up operate and maintain Laser Plasma Cutter Trax Plate Application Machine and other specialized forming equipment selecting programs from the controller menu making program edits and occasionally programming new parts in accordance with defined specifications and manufacturing standards.

Reporting to the Production Supervisor youll primarily work with a small team of machine operators.

A highlight of your day-to-day will include :

• Maintaining a safe and clean work environment performing all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
• Reading production drawings and manufacturing products in accordance with engineering specifications.
• Calling correct programs and operating CNC equipment as required to produce parts that conform to specifications and production schedule.
• Communicating any deviations with supervisor.
• Monitoring the machine operation and taking necessary steps to allow the machine to function properly in good working order including troubleshooting any machine issues with supervisor and / or maintenance assisting in the diagnosis and corrective action as needed.
• Using cranes forklifts and other lifting equipment when certified in support of manufacturing.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Youre enthusiastic and motivated in a fast-paced environment. You have proven experience as a CNC operator and are skilled in operating CNC machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools. You have prior forklift and heavy machinery operating experience and can read production drawings with a high level of attention to detail. You dont take shortcuts. Youre safety conscious not just for yourself but for your team.
