Senior Resident Project Representative Or Senior Construction Inspector

Weston & Sampson is seeking a Senior Resident Project Representative or Senior Construction Inspector for oversight and inspection of utility and infrastructure projects in the South Boston area of Massachusetts. Construction includes coordinating multiple utility improvements in a congested urban environment. The job is a great opportunity for long term professional development as part of a team of professional engineers.

What you'll do :

• Supervise subordinate consultant staff as appropriate.
• Review contract documents and construction management requirements to identify and report degree of Contractor's compliance.
• Review and evaluate Contractor's work schedules and updates with the Project Manager.
• Anticipate construction work, potential problems, progress, and other job-related conditions.
• Careful coordination with abutters and the client, contract administration and reporting, and coordination with engineers working in support.
• Assist municipality to negotiate claims for extra work / change orders.
• Maintain, liaison and attend regular site meetings.
• Confirm compliance of shop drawings and other construction modifications.
• Measure the quantities and observe quality of construction and prepare daily records of construction work.
• Record and report problems and failures to comply with contract documents and construction management requirements.
• Review Contractor's monthly payment estimates.
• Maintain positive relationships with municipal staff and contractors.
• Some overtime may be required.
