Job Description

TYPICAL FUNCTIONS :

The primary functions within this job will include, but are not limited to the following :

  • Provide information about the medical examiner’s office and their loved one to the family as soon after the death as possible
  • Gather information from investigators and pathologist in reference to the cause of death, type of injuries, and any other information that may be released to families
  • Contact family members as requested by pathologist to gather pertinent information in relation to the death
  • Assist with email communication
  • Serves as backup to the Receptionist as required
  • data entry into vital records system
  • Other administrative duties as assigned

Description :

Must possess the ability to represent the agency in a professional manner with integrity and exhibit good people skills. M aintain the highest level of confidentiality and be able to adhere to strict guidelines. Intermediate level skills in personal computers, working in a Windows environment. Ability to successfully complete any necessary training required by the agency.

Education and Experience :

Previous medical setting experience and medical terminology is a plus. Must have experience working with Windows operating system in a multiuser environment. Employees must possess and maintain mental stamina to perform the work and willingness to accept the mental discomforts inherent in the work, pass a rigid character and background investigation, be at least 21 years of age, and possess a valid Oklahoma Driver’s License. Must be able to deal tactfully and professionally with the public.
