About the Role
Join our ARC Command Center team as a Bookkeeper where you'll play a vital role in maintaining the financial integrity of our Adult Rehabilitation Centers. This position combines technical accounting expertise with meaningful work that directly supports our mission to transform lives and strengthen communities. You'll work with cutting-edge accounting software and collaborate with a dedicated team committed to excellence in financial stewardship.
Compensation Package :
- 20 / Hour - Competitive rate for the market
- 36.25 Hours / Week - Excellent work-life balance
- Hybrid Schedule : Work from home 1 day per week after 90 days OR 4 day workweek

Key Responsibilities
Financial Transaction Processing
Process various financial transactions using The Salvation Army's accounting softwarePost journal entries, analyze financial information, and prepare comprehensive financial reportsCode, review, scan, and post accounts payable invoices and process checks efficientlyPrepare AR invoices for internal and external vouchers billing and reconciliationIdentify and post incoming wire transfers accuratelyDaily Operations & Reconciliations
Match store deposits to daily sales and credit card postings with precisionProcess daily reconciliations for ARCs and storesAssist with store and operating account bank reconciliationsMonitor compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Salvation Army accounting processesMaintain open AR files and communicate effectively with customers and the ARCC AccountantVendor Management & Reporting
Obtain and maintain vendor W-9 forms and banking information for ACH paymentsPrepare store sales, rags sales, and vehicle sales reportsAssist with preparing eligible vendors for year-end 1099 processingSupport internal audit preparations as neededCollaborative Support
Work closely with ARC Accountants and the Director of Finance to ensure timely month-end and year-end closingProvide exceptional support to team members and maintain positive working relationshipsContribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the finance departmentWhat You'll Need to Succeed
Required Experience & Skills
2+ years bookkeeping / accounting experience - We value practical experienceProficiency in accounting software - QuickBooks, Sage, or similar programsSome Excel skillsExperience with multi-location accounting preferred but not requiredStrong attention to detail - Accuracy is essential in financial workExcellent communication skills - You'll work with diverse teams and external contactsPreferred Qualifications
Accounting / bookkeeping degree OR equivalent experience - We value both pathsExperience in non-profit or multi-location operations is a plusComfortable with technology - Ability to learn new systems quicklyProblem-solving mindset - Able to identify and resolve discrepancies independentlyCollaborative team player who enjoys helping others succeedAdditional Requirements
