Purpose of the Job : The Training and Development Specialist will create, develop, implement, and conduct comprehensive training and development programs for employees. Primary training focus will be Business Development / Sales. This role will also facilitate new hire training and support leaders in effectively coaching their new staff to enhance their performance.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities :

• Assesses training and development needs through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and communication with management.
• Creates, organizes, plans, and presents various forms of onboarding, orientation, and skills training for employees.
• Delivers company training programs and workshops to employees and managers.
• Monitors the effectiveness of training on employees using individual or group performance results.
• Develops and creates lesson plans and training aids.
• Develops unique training programs to fulfill workers specific needs to maintain or improve job skills.
• Creates and / or acquires training procedure manuals, guides, and course materials.
• Presents training and development programs using various forms and formats including group discussion, lecture, simulations, and videos.
• Maintains records of training and development activities, attendance, results of tests and assessments, and retraining requirements.
• Evaluates program effectiveness through assessments, surveys, and feedback to use for future improvements to content and presentation.
• Spearheads and participates in continuous improvement strategy sessions for new training program design and existing program enhancements.
• Maintains knowledge of the latest trends in training and development.
• May specialize in a particular subject, training program, or function of the company. Training programs may typically include topics such as sales, supervisory / management training, job skills training, team building, and communications. Serve as a backup for Operations training, as needed.
• Performs other related duties as required.
