Seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with experience in electromechanical systems design and extensive medical device development experience. This role supports the full product lifecycle from concept to commercialization and post-market focusing on electronics for ablation systems including needles and consoles. The engineer will design, prototype, test, and transfer electronics to production while ensuring IEC 60601 compliance and medical safety standards.
Responsibilities :
Architect and design electromechanical systems for Class II medical devices, including system / block diagrams, patient isolation, power distribution, component and processing platform selection.
Perform schematic capture and PCB layout in Altium Designer, support layout review, oversee prototype builds, develop test fixtures, conduct V&V, SAR mapping, and high-frequency testing (amplifiers, antennas, interconnects).
Utilize spectrum analyzers, high-frequency scopes, and other instrumentation.
Optimize designs based on test results, support production transfer, collaborate cross-functionally, engage vendors, and generate clear documentation (specs, requirements, test plans, V&V reports).
Ensure compliance with IEC 60601, ISO 13485, and NRTL requirements.
Qualifications :
B.S. in Electrical or related Engineering.
7+ years in electronics / system design.
experience with software-driven electromechanical medical devices (ablation preferred).
proficiency in Altium Designer.
wireless technologies (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, RFID).
hands-on prototyping, debugging, and production transfer.
MRI-compatibility experience preferred.
strong analytical, documentation, and collaboration skills.
