Job description
Core Responsibilities
Database Installation and Configuration
Installing configuring and upgrading Oracle database software and related tools
Database Creation and Management
Creating new databases managing storage structures and defining database objects like tables indexes and views
User Management and Security
Creating and managing user accounts assigning roles and privileges and implementing security policies to protect sensitive data
Performance Tuning and Optimization
Monitoring database performance identifying bottlenecks and implementing solutions to improve efficiency
Backup and Recovery
Developing and implementing backup and recovery strategies to ensure data availability and recoverability in case of failures
Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution
Diagnosing and resolving databaserelated issues including performance problems errors and security breaches
Database Monitoring
Continuously monitoring database health performance and resource usage to proactively identify and address potential problems
Capacity Planning
Evaluating database server hardware storage needs and planning for future capacity requirements
Collaboration
Working closely with application developers system administrators and other IT professionals to ensure seamless database operations
Documentation
Creating and maintaining documentation related to database design configuration and procedures

Database Design and Architecture
Designing the logical and physical structure of databases to meet specific business requirements
Data Modeling
Developing and maintaining data models to represent the structure and relationships of data within the database
Scripting and Automation
Developing scripts and automation tools to streamline database administration tasks
New Technology Implementation
Evaluating and implementing new database technologies and tools to improve performance security or functionality
Disaster Recovery Planning
Developing and testing disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity in the event of a major outage
Reporting and Analytics
Generating reports and dashboards to track database performance usage and other key metrics
Training and Support
Providing guidance and training to other users on databaserelated topics
