Job Specific Competencies : DEMONSTRATES COMPETENCY TO PERFORM TRANSPORTATION DUTIES REQUIRED BY THE HOSPITAL WHICH INCLUDE :

Insures the comfort of the patient while transportingTransports using wheelchairs and stretchersChecks two forms of patient identification prior to transportingCompletes an In-Patient transport within 20 minutes - Leave to Return TATCommunicates any delays back to departmentWhen delay is encountered, calls dept. for new assignmentTransports any other required items; documents, equipment, etc.In times of high activity, helps out in any other area as neededAssists nursing staff removing patient from bed when necessaryMaintains patient privacy when transportingEngages patient in conversation during the transportMakes equipment rounds and transports equipment back to central supply, PACU or any other area of the hospital as directed.Picks up medication s from pharmacy as directed and brings to appropriate floorResponsible for maintaining and cleaning Transportation equipment (ex : wheel chairs, stretchers, beds, etc.), before and after transporting patients.Demonstrates knowledge and efficient use of cleaning techniques, solutions, equipment and tools.Performs related services such as , bed ,oves, changing mattresses, stocking supplies, etc.Maintains high standards; works steadily at an efficient pace; achieves high QA score.Responds rapidly and thoroughly to emergencies special needs, spills, etc.Accepts direction from Supervisors and hospital staff.Accepts and absorbs Department and Hospital education program.Exercises good judgement while working around patients and visitors. Remains professional at all times.Takes initiative in rendering service or responding to needs. Assists other associates as necessary. Responds to direction as provided.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Education + Experience Requirements :

High School Diploma or equivalency

6 months to 1 year experience in a healthcare setting.

Credentials + Qualifications :

BLS - AHA approved
