Companion / Driver - PART TIME

SeaStar Senior Services is a professional in-home care and care management company in Portland, Oregon. We provide home care, medical and social outings, and care management for seniors and vulnerable adults in Portland and the surrounding towns. We are looking for companions who want to escort clients to medical appointments, social outings, and out of town trips. We are looking for professionals who want to be part of a company that is focused on providing quality, compassionate care to our clients.

Duties :

• Driving company owned vehicles, companions take clients to medical appointments and take notes during the exam to report back to responsible parties. Medical appointments include routine doctor visits, lab and x-rays, and urgent care.
• Driving company owned vehicles, companions take clients on social outings including shopping, meals, movies and more.

Qualifications :

Experience working with seniors and adults with disabilities

Excellent driving record with at least 5 years driving experience

CPR certified or able to obtain

Good observational and writing

Must be comfortable driving wheelchair van and getting "up close" to strap clients wheelchair safely.

Must be strong enough to push a wheelchair up a van ramp

Training provided.

Pay is $21 an hour weekdays, $25 an hour weekends.

Additional hours available if willing to work as an in home caregiver - companionship, light housekeeping, meal prep, medications and personal care.

Pay : $21.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours : 10 - 20 per week
