Environmental ManagerPBF Energy Inc. (NYSE : PBF) is one of the largest independent refiners in North America, operating, through its subsidiaries, oil refineries and related facilities. We are a growing organization seeking a talented Environmental Manager to join our team as a pivotal member here at PBF Energy. This role is located at Chalmette Refinery in Chalmette, LA.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversees the development, implementation and maintenance of departmental procedures in compliance with the refinery and company
• Supervises work activities of environmental professionals assigned to various disciplines
• Develops annual environmental objectives and targets for the department and the refinery
• Directs the Environmental staff regarding the appropriate response to agency inspections, information requests, NOVs, etc. and ensures appropriate corrective actions are implemented
• Interfaces with the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (LDEQ) and other agencies as appropriate in settlement negotiations
• Ensures that all periodic and event related reports are made internally and to the appropriate agencies per regulatory time requirements
• Provides direction and training to other refinery departments relative to their environmental responsibilities
• Interprets local, state and federal environmental regulation in order to determine the applicability of these regulations and develops appropriate compliance procedures and processes
• Develops and implements management systems to ensure objectives are met and environmental compliance is maintained.
• Creates and maintains facility and department environmental policies and procedures as needed
• Develops annual budget and controls / manages environmental expenses
• Oversees contract requests / renewals for environmental contracts
• Maintains environmental department organization chart / advisor responsibilities
• Provides environmental support in emergency response events
• Assists in incident investigations as needed
• Provides guidance in the promotion, identification and scope development of pollution prevention, emission reduction, and waste minimization projects
• Reviews new projects to ensure proper environmental permits are obtained
• Stewards compliance and tracks metrics for PSMS 6.5 / 6.6 as well as monthly and biweekly metrics to corporate
• Oversees and coordinates HSE compliance resourcing for PBF Logistics operations located in the region
• Interfaces with all appropriate regulatory bodies, including LDEQ, LDC&E, USACE, and USEPA and serves as a refinery spokesperson with environmental regulatory agencies and community groups
• Participates in local, state and national industry groups to ensure the refinery is aligned with standard industry compliance practices and to lobby for refinery interests
