Rebound is looking for a full-time (40 hours per week) Operating Room Registered Nurse for our Surgery Center. This position is accountable for the patient outcomes resulting from the nursing care provided during the surgical or invasive procedures. You will provide nursing care of patients of all ages using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. A wide range of general nursing skill is required. In addition, development of special knowledge and skills appropriate to the specific position is necessary.

Responsibilities :

  • Participate in Patient Safety, Patient Rights and Advocacy practice including : Patient Identification, Informed Consent, Ensured implementation of time out process, confirming informed consent, surgical site, patient ID, allergies, and implant availability, if applicable.
  • Monitor the OR environment, observe patient responses to surgery; implement emergent or corrective measures as needed.
  • Participate in drug safety and administration practices.
  • Inspect and prep surgical sites. Note any skin conditions that would preclude surgery.
  • Implement physician orders, documenting in patient chart. Ensure all orders are received and implemented.
  • Chart Documentation including information about the status of the patient, nursing diagnosis and interventions, and evaluation of the patient's response to care.
  • Practice standards of infection control including hand hygiene and proper drug administration; ensure these practices are carried out throughout the course of care.
  • Assist with efficient preparation of rooms between cases (turnover).
  • Communicates key information to clinical team, patient, family members etc.
  • Updates team leader of changes in case schedules as soon as possible.
  • Updates family members and patients with delays in patient scheduling.
  • Reports to team leader or Clinical Manager any adverse / unusual event.
  • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and abide by all HIPAA rules and regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
  • Requirements :

  • Associate or Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing preferred, but not required.
  • Washington State RN License.
  • Maintain BLS and ACLS certification.
  • One year surgical circulating experience. Preferred; 1 to 3 years of experience in Ambulatory Surgery Center.
  • Scrub experience desired, but not required.
  • Oral / written communication, analysis / problem solving, medical terminology, skill in teaching patients / families about procedures, and knowledge of nursing practices; ability to practice in multidisciplinary team.
  • Must be adaptable and willing to complete other tasks as assigned.
  • Physical Requirements :

  • Standing and walking for 80% of a regularly scheduled working shift.
  • Active physical exertion up to 85% of time.
  • Frequent pushing and pulling of equipment
  • Frequent fingering to prepare and administer meds, connect equipment to patient, and handle supplies
  • High visual demand to read paperwork and all supply labels.
  • Bending and twisting for up to 20% of a regularly scheduled working shift.
  • Lifting & turning with other team members to position patients. Weight varies dependent on the size of the patient.

    Applicants must be available to work 10 hour variable shifts Monday-Friday. No on-call, weekends, or holidays.

    This is a full-time, 40 hours per week position.
