Job Summary :

The Medical Laboratory Scientist performs high-complexity laboratory testing in compliance with CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety guidelines. This role includes specimen analysis, reporting results, maintaining quality control standards, and ensuring regulatory compliance. The position requires technical expertise, precision, and a commitment to patient safety and confidentiality. Key Responsibilities :

  • Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling, testing, and reporting.
  • Maintain accurate records of test results and proficiency testing samples.
  • Perform specimen analysis using approved testing methods.
  • Review, release, and document test results.
  • Adhere to laboratory quality control policies and document all activities, calibrations, and maintenance.
  • Identify and resolve issues affecting test performance or reporting.
  • Report STATs or critical results per departmental procedure.
  • Answer client or internal lab inquiries when needed.
  • Maintain testing records, safety compliance, and departmental organization.
  • Track reagent / test kit usage with proper documentation.
  • Participate in training, meetings, and regulatory inspections as required.

Required Experience :

  • Minimum year of clinical laboratory experience (high-complexity testing).
  • Knowledge of QC, QA, and core laboratory procedures.
  • Strong computer proficiency across multiple systems.
  • Nice-to-Have Experience :

  • years in a clinical laboratory setting.
  • Experience with customer service and cross-department collaboration.
  • Required Skills :

  • Ability to manage multiple laboratory procedures simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Commitment to patient confidentiality and regulatory compliance.
  • Preferred Skills :

  • National certification as MT / MLT (ASCP or AMT).
  • BS in Medical Technology, Chemistry, Biology, or equivalent.
  • Credential evaluation for foreign-educated candidates (IERF).
  • Additional Skills :

  • Ability to prioritize work efficiently.
  • Comfort level interacting with clients and colleagues across departments.
  • Attention to safety practices and quality standards.
