Job Overview
Reports to the Practice Supervisor for clinical and administrative supervision and the collaborating Physician or designee for medical supervision. Is responsible for the coordination and delivery of primary care, as specified by the appropriate certifying agency, to MPE patients at designated work sites. Provides clinical and administrative assistance to MPE programs, etc. Works collaboratively in the education of nursing students, medical residents, and other pre-professionals.

- Obtaining complete / limited medical history and physical data, as appropriate, on patients.
- Interpreting and integrating data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic treatment as needed.
- Performing a limited physical exam and recording findings. Collaborating with physician in managing acute medical needs of patients.
- Ordering appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures.
- Synthesizing data to determine preliminary diagnosis and therapeutic plan integrating principles of prevention.
- Administering and prescribing medications and injections according to MPE protocols.
- Interviewing and advising patients regarding health and illness prevention. Recommending community resources to meet patient and family needs.
- Educating patient and family regarding medications and treatments.
- Maintaining and reviewing patient records, charts, and other pertinent information. Posting tests, examination results, diagnoses, treatment, and referrals in the EMR.
- Triaging patient telephone calls and providing consultation.
- Coordinating or when appropriate managing medical and surgical emergencies.
- Providing referrals to BMG physicians for any patient without a primary care provider. Provides clinical and administrative assistance to MPE programs, e.g., education, follow-up, and the like by :
- Participating in health education.
- Maintaining related records and statistical data and preparing statistical reports as needed.
- Participating in interdisciplinary care conferences and assisting with referrals and dissemination of information to appropriate vendors.
- Assisting in the development and coordination of ongoing education and follow-up programs designed to measure client outcomes.
- Assisting in development and compliance of clinical protocols, policies and procedures.
- Participating in quality review and improvement programs; monitoring quality and outcomes of care rendered.
- Communicating with the Practice Supervisor as needed to ensure the quality and timeliness of services rendered to patients.
- Performing other job related assignments and special projects as assigned.
- Attends and participates in department meetings and is accountable for all information shared.
- Completes mandatory education, annual competencies and department specific education within established timeframes.

- Works in a clinic environment requiring physical exertion, frequent changes in job demands, certain undesirable patient care activities, and exposure to biohazards.
- Consequence of errors in performance may result in patient injury or death.
- Requires the physical ability and stamina (i.e. to walk / stand for prolonged periods of time, push carts / wheelchairs, lift up to 50 pounds, to position / lift patients at a maximum of 35 pounds without assistance, provide CPR, etc.) to perform the essential functions of the position.

Supporting the retail mission of MPE by adhering to payment and insurance policies and procedures. Must work in coordination with the MPE billing specialist to develop knowledge and compliance with collecting payment and insurance documentation, handle Medicare / Medicaid coverage, evaluate eligibility, and collect co-payment and full payment as appropriate. NP must make every effort to ensure payment to promote the financial success of the retail operation.Qualifications
Associate complies with the following organizational requirements :Completes annual employee health requirements within established timeframes.Maintains license / certification, registration in good standing throughout fiscal year.Direct patient care providers are required to maintain current BCLS (CPR) and other certifications as required by position / department.Adheres to regulatory agency requirements, survey process and compliance.The knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated below are normally acquired through the successful completion of a Bachelor's degree in Nursing. A valid and current RN license in the state of Indiana is required. The successful completion of a nurse practitioner program with applicable national certification is required. Two years of clinical nursing experience in practice area and successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner six month internship for new graduates or comparable experience is required. Master's of Science Degree in Nursing is preferred. Attainment of prescriptive authority or successful completion of applicable course work and pass state board exam to obtain prescriptive authority within six months of hire date.
