Jamie Benway with Robert Half is looking for a highly experienced Controller. This position plays a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with accounting standards, and driving strategic initiatives to support organizational growth. The ideal candidate will bring expertise from the construction industry and a strong background in accounting principles and financial analysis.

Responsibilities :

  • Manage the preparation and review of financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Oversee the month-end close process, ensuring timely and precise completion.
  • Perform general ledger reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Lead financial analysis to support business decisions and strategic planning.
  • Collaborate on M& A activities and assist with acquisition integration processes.
  • Ensure proper implementation and utilization of accounting software systems.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to streamline operations.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the accounting team.
  • Monitor key financial metrics and prepare detailed reports for management review.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes to maintain compliance.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in financial management, preferably within the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Proficiency in accounting software systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead month-end close processes and financial statement preparation.
  • Experience with M& A activities and acquisition integrations.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
