Assistant Engineering Manager

GAI Consultants, Inc is seeking an Assistant Engineering Manager to work with our West Virginia offices within our Transportation Business Unit. The successful candidate will enjoy working in a challenging, fast-paced, and team-oriented environment that will utilize their related work experience to develop professionally into a well-rounded engineer with the ability to grow in today's global environment

Responsibilities :

• Design and prepare plans and specifications for transportation structures, including highway and railroad bridges, retaining walls, box culverts, and other miscellaneous structures per AASHTO (The American Association of State Highway and Transportation) and WVDOH (West Virginia Division of Highways) requirements.
• Perform work as part of a team or as a task / project manager, in accordance with the project budget and schedule under moderate supervision.
• Prepare engineering cost estimates, the scope of work, and proposals and assist other Project / Task Managers with similar duties.
• Provide leadership, direction, and technical guidance to the project team to ensure quality technical services.
• Monitor and enforce compliance with established quality control standards.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Participate in occasional site visits in an outdoor environment.
