Title :    Principal Strategic Advisor & Subject Matter Expert

Work Schedule :   8 am – 5 pm

Work Day :    Monday  –  Friday

Aalis Management Consulting seeks a skilled and analytical Data Scientist / Statistician to support a critical client engagement with the Federal Government. This role suits a detail-oriented problem-solver passionate about data integrity, analysis, and creating order from complexity. You will be responsible for various activities, from deep-dive analysis and identifying data issues to designing and executing ETL processes and supporting data management.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Perform a comprehensive analysis on data flowing into, out of, and within the federal agency to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
  • Proactively identify, quantify, and document data quality issues, inconsistencies, and gaps within the organization's data ecosystems.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement effective plans and solutions to resolve identified data issues.
  • Design and execute data mapping, Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes to ensure efficient and accurate data flow and integration.
  • Support routine data management, validation, and governance processes to maintain high data quality and reliability.
  • Fulfill ad-hoc data extraction and analysis requests from users, providing timely and accurate insights.
  • Develop and perform testing activities, including data validation and user acceptance testing (UAT), to ensure solutions meet business requirements.
  • Create clear documentation for processes, data flows, and issue resolutions.

Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Economics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Approximately 2+ years of professional experience in a data analysis, data science, or ETL development role.
  • Proven experience with data analysis and profiling to identify issues and opportunities.
  • Hands-on experience with ETL tools and processes (e.g., SQL, Python, R, Alteryx, SSIS, Informatica).
  • Strong proficiency in writing complex SQL queries for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical findings for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Related industry certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified : Data Analyst Associate, AWS Certified Data Analytics, SAS Certified Professional).
  • Experience supporting government clients, particularly the Department of Commerce or similar agencies.
  • Proficiency in statistical programming languages such as Python (Pandas, NumPy, SciPy) or R.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Familiarity with data governance principles and best practices
