Responsibilities

• Performs specific tasks as directed by the RN and other healthcare team members as identified in the PCT role. Consults and seeks out guidance from RN and / or other healthcare team members, as appropriate and when completing new or unfamiliar tasks or duties.
• Tasks include but are not limited to :
• Activities of Daily Living
• Answering patient call lights
• Assisting with simple procedures defined in the work area
• Taking and recording vital signs and weights
• Transporting patients, equipment, supplies, and specimens
• Assists in maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe environment
• Obtains, records and / or accurately enters data into the EMR. Promptly completes documentation to assure an accurate legal record of patient's care.
• Verbally presents factual, concise, and timely information and / or patient care data to the RN, the healthcare team, patients and / or family members in a professional manner.

Qualifications

Education :

• Enrolled in a formal BSN or ADN nursing program to include completion of introductory clinical nursing course with clinical component.

Team members within UPH-DM may remain in Student Nurse tech role for up to 6-months after passing the board and achieving RN license.

License(s) / Certification(s) :

• Must possess and maintain current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification or obtain certification within three months from date of hire.

Experience :

• Completion of 1 RN clinical rotation

Other :

• Level 3 Medium Work : Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and / or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and / or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
