Redeemer Counseling Services is a ministry providing professional, gospel-centered counseling in New York, while offering training resources and workshops for ministry leaders and professional counselors more broadly. Counseling services are provided on a sliding scale fee rate which is sponsored by donors.
Role Description
We are seeking a creative, strategic, and organized Communications & Marketing Manager to join our team. This role is responsible for creating and executing comprehensive media strategy and content across web, social, and print platforms that advance Redeemer Counseling Services' brand and vision to internal and external audiences. Additionally, this position provides 10 hours per week of administrative team support, including team management assistance, front desk coverage, and administrative projects.
Key Responsibilities
Communications & Marketing (75% - 30 hours / week)
Brand Management & Strategy
Maintain and update RCS's branding guidelines to ensure consistent and unified brand voice across all platformsDraft and maintain external brand materials, including website and marketing collateralManage skilled contractors and agencies as necessary for design and production workEnsure all messaging aligns with organizational vision, mission, goals, and the RCS GIFT Approach to counseling
Content Creation & Writing
Create, write, and edit high-quality, informative, and engaging media content for RCS’s multiple channels Develop marketing copy for programs, services, events, and fundraising campaignsWrite articles and web content that educate and engage target audiencesProduce weekly staff newsletter, monthly clinical newsletter, and quarterly donor newslettersCoordinate with authors and subject matter experts for content productionWrite scripts and create content for video and audio recordings for internal communications, training workshops, curriculum, and fundraising events
Digital Marketing & Social Media
Develop and manage content strategy for social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, , etc.)Create, schedule, and post engaging social media content that builds community and advances missionDesign graphics and visual content for digital platforms using Adobe Creative Suite or CanvaManage website updates and content using WordPress / Craft CMSMonitor and analyze digital communications engagement, reach, and analyticsImplement SEO best practices to increase online visibility
Program & Event Marketing
Create, manage, edit, and schedule comprehensive marketing campaigns for all programming including : Client-based programming (group counseling, workshops)Training events and continuing educationFundraising events and campaignsDesign promotional materials (flyers, posters, email campaigns, social graphics)Coordinate marketing timelines and deliverables with program leads
Storytelling & Testimonials
Collaborate with staff to collect, edit, and publicize client and training participant testimoniesHighlight stories of transformation that demonstrate RCS's impactCreate compelling narratives for fundraising and awareness campaigns
Strategic Planning & Collaboration
Develop and execute an annual communications and marketing planBrainstorm and collaborate with counselors, Equipping team, and Fundraising team for
Innovative communication strategies
Assist with post-production of videos and audio recordingsStay current on communications and marketing trends, particularly in nonprofit and mental health sectors
Administrative Team Support (25% - 10 hours / week)
Team Management & Support
Assist Senior Manager of Operations & HR with administrative team management and coordinationSupport team meeting planning, documentation, and follow-upContribute to team culture-building and staff engagement initiativesSupport special projects for the administrative team (events, office initiatives, systems improvements)Assist with data entry, file management, and organizational documentationProvide periodic front desk coverage as needed
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or related field3+ years of professional experience in communications, marketing, or related fieldExceptional written and verbal communication skillsExcellent copywriting and content creation skills across multiple formats (web, social, print, video)Strong marketing strategy and campaign management experienceProficiency with social media platforms and digital marketing best practicesAbility to multitask and manage multiple projects and accounts simultaneouslyExcellent time management skills, including ability to prioritize and meet deadlinesStrong initiative and ability to develop new strategies and creative ideasAbility to work collaboratively as well as independentlyStrong critical thinking and problem-solving skillsComputer literacy with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and DropboxExperience with WordPress or similar CMS platformsGraphic design skills and proficiency with design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar)Knowledge of and interest in mental health and counselingBelief in RCS vision and missionStrong theological alignment with Redeemer Presbyterian ChurchStrong alignment with Redeemer Counseling's mission, vision, values, tone, and brandActive participating member of a gospel-centered church
Preferred
