Candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to our local market (MD, DE, VA, PA, DC & WV).
This position requires US Citizenship or Permanent Residence to meet ITAR requirements.
The annual salary range for this level role is $90,000 - $106,500. The posted salary range represents a general guideline; however, STScI considers several factors when determining base salary offers, such as internal pay equity, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's experience, education, and skill, and current market conditions.

The Space Telescope Science Institute (STScI) is a multi-mission science and flight operations center for NASA’s flagship observatories on the Johns Hopkins University Homewood campus in Baltimore, Maryland, with 800+ employees.
We are hiring a Java Application Test Engineer to join our Astronomer’s Proposal Tool team (APT) in Proposal Definition Tools Branch. Test Engineers collaborate closely with developers to support the APT, a Java application used by astronomers worldwide and by STScI operations staff to develop, plan, and implement science programs for our observatories, Hubble, James Webb and the Roman space telescopes and future observatories.
