Description
Reporting to the Vice Chair for Administration and Finance / Executive Director for Administration Finance and Ambulatory Services supports the Department of Pediatrics and Mount Sinai Childrens (MSC) across all locations.
In this capacity the Program Director will work closely with stakeholders to assist in the execution of priorities as they pertain to pediatric programs and initiatives ensuring that all relevant information is available to support the planning and execution process.
Responsibilities
- Administrative oversight and management of Mount Sinai West (MSW) newborn medicine services and Mount Sinai Downtown (MSD) ambulatory services. Thisincludes interpreting and administering policies regarding hiring placement and orientation of all faculty and / or staff. Reviews all reclassifications new positions and salary increases. May direct and coordinate performance appraisals for faculty professional staff and exempt / non-exempt employees. Provides feedback on a regular basis. Identifies opportunities for continuing education and provides training.
- Together with the Vice Chair / Executive Director ensures that proper fiscal management of financial resources is maintained through the appropriate use of funds in adherence with institutional mandates and guidelines.
- Manage negotiate submit and track internal / external agreements including consulting contracts such as affiliate Professional Services Agreements (PSAs) and Lease and Services Agreements (LSAs).
- Provides administrative direction and coordination in the formulation interpretation and administration of current and long-range policies procedures and programs including the development and execution of transition projects for the continued transformation and creation of MSC the clinical enterprise for child health.
- Provides process improvement assistance when needed and evaluates and develops logical workflows where applicable. This may include defining the scope of specific departmental projects and analyzing requirements to execute those projects successfully.
- Defines and documents procedures identifies process and workflow changes for continuous improvement and implements best practices for greater efficiency.

Also serves as a point of contact for interdepartmental communications where applicable to maintain standards implements improvements define measure progress and meet business objectives.Oversight of the Childrens Center Foundation including interfacing with the Board managing the annual fundraising events tracking the campaign donations and pledges contract negotiation tracking expenses etc.May be responsible for creating reviewing and / or updating policies and procedures pertaining to department specific goals and objectives.Assures compliance with regulatory insurance and ethical standers regarding safety of patients employees and property.May chair or participate in department and MSC committees.Program support for COO / SVP for Kravis Childrens Hospital and MSC to help bridge between ambulatory and hospital clinical actives as required.Other Duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelors Degree required. Masters Degree Preferred
5 years of experience in health care finance or administration required.
Strategic Planning and Execution formulating policy building and developing financial plans.
Managing resources and leading successful teams.
Budget accountability : Plans budget needs by analyzing short and long-term program plans.
Collaborates with the Center Lead Finance and Pediatric / MSC Administration to assure the completion of the annual budget and subsequent monitoring of financial status of the department.
Excellent verbal written and interpersonal skills.
Analytical problem solving managerial skills required.
