Job Description

Director of Mail Center Operations oversees the primary activities of operations staff to ensure the completion of

tasks and attainment of departmental goals. The successful candidate will ensure efficient functional

management of operations, and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through focus on

quality.

Responsibilities :

  • Manage P&L activity for site, and align business solutions to support Company platform budgeted expectations.
  • Manage the planning, execution, communications and maintenance of a Large Mail Center
  • Manage relationships with 3rd party Strategic Partners.
  • Estimate time frames, quality, and quantity of resources required to successfully implement and carry out business enterprises.
  • Coordinate and manage general business activities for the purpose of generating revenue and reducing costs.
  • Handle personnel activities of staff (i.e., hire, train, reward, motivate, discipline, terminate, performance reviews, and pay discussions).
  • Serve as an escalation point for issues beyond team authority.
  • Resolve conflicts involving scheduling, resources, or technical issues.
  • Responsible for budgeting of department's personnel, capital, and / or operations expenses.
  • Manage multiple operations teams across both client-owned and RRD-owned sites and regions
  • Prepare annual forecasts and operational budgets – expenses, revenue, capital requirements, etc.
  • Manage operating expenses across multiple teams, according to budgets and margins.
  • Serve as the senior leadership escalation point for issues beyond local team management authority.
  • Serve as the leadership escalation point for clients.
  • Manage, develop, reward, and discipline operations leaders across all teams of responsibility.
  • Drive continuous improvement, quality management, and efficiency programs across all locations / teams.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for facility, security and IT needs for RRD employees both on site and in RRD facilities.
  • In partnership with Sales and Account Management, work to enhance Product strategy and identify areas of organic growth opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Skills and Certifications

  • Experience in Lettershop Mail Production and USPS Postal Acumen
  • Ability to lead a large and grow complex organization within a high-speed environment
  • Must be able to handle stressful situations involving internal and external stakeholders, and successfully guide the team to positive outcomes
  • Must be able to collaborate with all internal parties
  • Excellent communication ability
  • Able to juggle multiple priorities, and able to prioritize needs, clearly communicating these priorities
  • Ability to negotiate both with internal and external parties
  • Excellent proficiency with Excel, and PowerPoint for reporting
  • Possess excellent interpersonal, presentation, and written communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in area relatable to the job function
  • 8+ years of relevant work experience acting as a Director or similar capacity in a large organization

  • Travel

  • 10% - Possible travel to R.R. Donnelley Corporate and other facilities (domestic and overseas). The frequency for travel percentage is subject to change depending on business needs.
  • Additional Information

    RRD's current salary range for this role is $116,500 to $186,500 / year. The salary range may be adjusted based on the applicable geographic location of the hired employee, and the range may change in the future. At RRD, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions may vary based upon, but not limited to education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location. Depending on the role, in addition to base salary, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program. RRD’s benefit offerings include medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, disability insurance, 401(k) with company match, life insurance and other voluntary supplemental insurance coverages, plus parental leave, adoption assistance, tuition assistance and employer / partner discounts.
