Anika Systems is seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to support a federal contract in the Washington, DC area. The selected candidate will contribute to the success of a cross-functional IT communications team, supporting efforts across enterprise architecture and IT governance initiatives. This role is responsible for producing a wide range of documentation including system and process documentation, technical guides, developer-facing resources, and user support materials.
This position is partly on-site in the Washington, DC area. Candidates must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a government suitability clearance.
Key Responsibilities :
- Manage the full lifecycle of operating systems for servers, PCs, Macs, scanners, and printers.
- Oversee preventive maintenance contracts for application software and hardware assets.
- Ensure compliance with hardware and software security policies.
- Collaborate with the help desk team to diagnose and resolve customer technical issues.
- Work with vendors to coordinate hardware / software support, maintenance, upgrades, and documentation.
- Stay informed on vendor procedures and upcoming upgrades that may impact current systems.
Legacy System Modernization Support :
Inventory legacy business applications and associated databases on standalone systems.Perform ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processing, including data cleansing and transformation.Support data migration efforts to platforms such as Salesforce or Oracle applications.Manage and support the decommissioning of legacy applications and underlying databases.Develop and implement data archiving strategies using Adobe tools and Apple Macintosh systems, ensuring proper file naming conventions and compliance.Qualifications & Skills :
Experience in IT systems administration, technical support, or a related field.Proficiency in Oracle Developer Suite 11g, SQLPlus 11g, and TOAD (Tools for Oracle Application Developers).Familiarity with Erwin Data Modeler for database modeling and documentation.Strong knowledge of ETL processing, data transformation, and data archiving techniques.Experience with Salesforce data integration and Oracle-based application environments.Strong knowledge of operating systems, hardware, and enterprise software across both Windows and Apple environments.Experience working in Apple Macintosh environments for technical data handling, archiving, and documentation support.Understanding and application of naming conventions for modernization and legacy system decommissioning.Ability to work effectively with vendors to manage support and upgrade processes.Familiarity with IT security compliance standards and best practices.Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Powered by JazzHR
