Job Details :

Mercer Engineering Research Center (MERC), a research institute of Mercer University, provides high quality engineering, scientific, and technical support services to both government and private industry customers. The Industrial Security Administrator is responsible to assist and support the MERC Facility Security Officer (FSO) in executing day to day DISS / NBIS recordkeeping, preparing visit requests, and investigation packages for review. The Industrial Security Administrator maintains OSA classified material logs, delivers routine security briefings, and supports badge / access processing and assists the FSO with maintaining the facility clearance for the Center.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• DISS / NBIS data entry and reconciliation using unique credentials and audit-quality recordkeeping.
• Prepares visit requests and investigation packages for FSO review and submission.
• Maintains Open Storage Areas (OSAs) sign in / sign out logs and custodial control of classified material per standard operating procedures.
• Delivers onboarding and refresher security briefings and tracks completion in the training registry.
• Processes badge issuance and updates access rosters per physical security procedures.
• Conducts self-inspections using checklists, gathers evidence, and documents findings for supervisory review.
• Drafts incident reports and collects evidence; escalates immediately to FSO for action.
• Follows chain of custody and records retention procedures for classified and sensitive materials.
• Must adhere to instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
• Responsible for support and execution of other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the FSO.
