The Department of Digital Media ( ) invites applications for a tenure track faculty position in Animation and Game Development to begin January 2026.
The animation and game development faculty member develops and teaches in one or more areas : 3D modeling and animation, 2D animation, and / or interactive game development. The faculty member engages in scholarly activities and creative works that contribute to the mission of the university, department, and profession. In addition, the faculty provides service at the department, college, and university levels.

The department will accept all qualified applications but is particularly interested in applicants with experience in Maya, Unity, C#, Houdini, Toon Boom, teaching, and technical direction.

Minimum Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited institution with a master’s degree in animation and game development or a related field
- Experience working on a variety of animation and / or video game development projects
- College-level teaching experience or relevant industry experience
- Knowledge and skill in current instructional theories, strategies, techniques, and discipline content
Preferred Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited institution with a terminal degree (MFA or doctorate)Experience at a major animation, visual FX, game development, or other studioKnowledge of animation and game development technical processes and methodologies, including modeling, rigging, texturing, lighting, scripting, and use of game enginesKnowledge of contemporary animation aesthetic processes, such as character development, layout, composition, digital storyboarding, and compositingSkills in character development, rigging, animation, effects, scripting languages (C#, MEL, Python), and production pipeline managementExcellent organizational, time management, and program coordination skillsEffective verbal and written communication skillsAbility to mentor students and manage multiple tasks effectivelyAbility to work with diverse backgrounds and demonstrate sound judgment and initiativeAbility to interpret university core values, plan objectives, and assess student workProficiency with learning management systems like CanvasEvidence of scholarship / creative works and service aligned with discipline interestsThis job posting is active and accepting applications.
