The Airborne Sensor RF Design Department is seeking an established Mechanical Engineer to fill an On-Site position in our McKinney TX location. We are looking for self-starting candidates to perform mechanical design and documentation of electro-mechanical assemblies coordinate with and visit suppliers throughout the US and support our manufacturing facility in McKinney TX.

Responsibilities to Anticipate :

The candidate is expected to follow established procedures and instructions while working closely with program and functional leadership to ensure the overall design and production goals are met. The candidate is expected to have proficient experience with PTC Creo Parametric software or other Solid Modeling tools. The candidate is also expected to have a working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles and their application for design documentation and fabrication. The candidate will work within a multi-disciplined team of engineers with responsibilities ranging aerostructure design housing design electronics equipment packaging circuit card assemblies interconnects and thermal management. The position will require frequent interaction with the Integrated Program Team Lead (IPTL) Program Management (PM) Supply Chain and other external personnel. Program related travel to external suppliers and other Raytheon facilities typically does not exceed 10%.

Basic Qualifications :

Bachelors degree in Mechanical Aerospace or Equivalent Engineering from an ABET accredited university and a minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.

Experience with PTC CREO Parametric or other mechanical CAD design tools.

Experience with utilizing Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing principles.

The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications :

Knowledge of electromechanical assemblies and the interrelationship of the components therein.

Knowledge of aerostructure and fastener design.

Knowledge of materials and fabrication methods.

Knowledge of statistical concepts and how to apply them to development and production processes.

Knowledge of engineering and scientific methods and tools to characterize behavior of products and processes.

Knowledge of reading and creating mechanical fabrication and assembly drawings.

Production support including the use of basic measurement tools.

Ability to draft communications create and deliver presentations.

Able to work independently and as a team member.

Experience in the support of design and integration of mechanical products and assemblies.

Proficient in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing including experience with 3D tolerance analysis software.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Knowledge of Mechanical CAD design and electronic design.

Ability to travel between North Texas sites and nationwide suppliers.

Analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work in a multi-disciplined integrated product team.

Experience working with Next Generation Jammer mid-band product.

The salary range for this role is 82000 USD - 164000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
