Department : Veterans Health Administration (VHA)

Location : VA Sierra Nevada Health Care System in Reno, NV

Position Type : Full-Time

Overview : The VA Sierra Nevada Health Care System is actively seeking a dynamic and experienced Gastroenterologist to join our dedicated team. This role offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive gastroenterological care to our nation s veterans and contribute to improving their health and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Provide high-quality, patient-centered care for veterans with a variety of gastrointestinal disorders.
  • Perform routine and advanced gastroenterological procedures, including endoscopies, colonoscopies, and other diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients, ensuring continuity of care.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare providers to deliver comprehensive and coordinated care.
  • Engage in health promotion and disease prevention activities for the patient population.
  • Participate in the training and supervision of medical residents and fellows, contributing to their professional development.
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records in compliance with VHA guidelines and policies.

Qualifications :

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology.
  • Valid and unrestricted medical license to practice in any U.S. state or territory.
  • Experience in both outpatient and inpatient gastroenterological care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a passion for serving veterans.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and patient-centered care.
