This is a full-time position. Pay is $22.15 / hr.
SUMMARY : Gamers wanted! Do you enjoy video games or a fast paced environment with problem solving? Then this is the position for you! You will provide emergency medical communications relating to medical call taking, as well as radio communications and other related work. You will assist with communications to active ambulance and mobility units to provide an optimum response relating to medical need.

Ensure daily customer happinessEnsures the answering of all telephone lines immediately in coordination with the Control Center TeamAnswers and provides accurate information for all United Way referral callsAnswers and provides courteous assistance for all Red Cross emergency referral callsIn conjunction with the EMD, provides prompt, courteous call taking, pre-scheduling of calls, and response information to medic unit personnelAssures that the work area is clean, equipped with all necessary material, and that the equipment is operating properly at the beginning and ending of each shiftAttends training sessions as required to maintain certificationPrepares computer-generated reports and other incidental and general information for the Director of Operations as directed.Responsible for efficient, effective unit deployment through intelligent use of System Status Plan to ensure the best, safest response time performance possibleProvides coordination of available resources as efficiently and effectively as possible to ensure prompt handling of all mobility transports.The ability to think and act quickly in stressful situationsResponsible for maintaining a good working relationship with management staff, fellow associates, public safety personnel, hospital and nursing home personnel, and the general publicAbility to prepare detailed written reportsOther roles and responsibilities as assignedQUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS :
Must be at least 18 years of ageMust have a valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving recordMust have a high school diploma or G.E.D.Must possess current BLS cardMust successfully complete Medical Priority Dispatch Certification programMust complete specified Control Center orientationAccurate, basic typing skills and computer operation knowledgeExceptional knowledge of all resources available, i.e. cross index, CAD, paging systems, phone system, radio transmitter equipmentExceptional knowledge of city streets and general service area geographyExceptional knowledge of the Medical Priority Dispatch System and its use in accordance with local protocols and company policiesExceptional knowledge of all first responders and mutual aid ambulance providers in and around our service areas and how and when they are activatedResponsible for overseeing scheduling needs and volume demands and report any unusual circumstances or resource requirements immediately to the Control Center Supervisor and the Director of Operations.Must be interviewed by Life EMS designeeCOVID-19 Vaccination highly encouragedPlease note that Life EMS tries to accommodate all schedules, but as an EMS agency, you may be required to work shifts outside of your requested availability so we can assist our patients and communities.
