About Us :

God Restoring Order (GRO) Community is a mental healthcare provider that specializes in

trauma recovery services for males of color ages 5 and up. GRO services are grounded in an

understanding of the neurological, biological and psychological effects of trauma. GRO services

include mental health and wellness, stress management, and community outreach.

Position Summary :

The Job Developer plays a critical role in employer engagement, focusing on creating targeted

job opportunities that align with the interests, skills, and needs of Adult Workforce Development

participants. This position is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with

employers willing to hire individuals with background challenges while working closely with

program staff to ensure successful job placements.

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated professional to develop employer partnerships,

provide job readiness training, conduct one-on-one career coaching, and facilitate meaningful

employment opportunities for program participants. The ideal candidate will have experience in

workforce development, case management, and employer engagement, with a strong

understanding of the challenges faced by justice-involved individuals. This full-time position

offers an opportunity to make a direct and lasting impact on individuals reentering the workforce.

Key Responsibilities :

Job Development & Placement :

  • Identify and cultivate relationships with employers willing to hire individuals with criminal

backgrounds.

  • Develop a network of job opportunities and match participants with suitable employment
  • based on skills and interests.

  • Conduct job searches, assist with applications, and provide resume and cover letter
  • support.

  • Secure full-time job placements for program participants throughout the Chicagoland
  • area.

    One-on-One Career Coaching Job Readiness Support :

  • Provide individualized career coaching throughout the 16-week program at various
  • locations.

  • Assign participants employment-related tasks to complete before each one-on-one
  • session.

  • Review pre-employment assessments to understand participants work history, skills,
  • and career interests.

  • Guide participants in career exploration and develop personalized career pathways.
  • Provide feedback on professional development, including mock interviews, workplace
  • communication, and appropriate attire.

    Career Fairs Employer Engagement :

  • Coordinate employer site visits to introduce participants to potential job opportunities.
  • Identify and facilitate participation in career fairs tailored to the reentry population.
  • Engage with employers to understand job requirements, promote the program, and
  • advocate for participants.

    Networking Relationship Building :

  • Attend networking events, career fairs, and workforce coalition meetings to expand
  • employer partnerships.

  • Maintain employer relationships through follow-up calls and meetings.
  • Attend participant orientations to introduce available job development services.
  • Facilitate professional development workshops for program participants.
  • Connect the Program Manager and employers to develop strategic workforce
  • partnerships.

    Team Collaboration & Case Management :

  • Participate in team meetings, case staffing, and strategy sessions to align job
  • placement efforts.

  • Gather participant information from staff, including job interests, desired salaries, and
  • work locations.

  • Maintain regular communication with the Program Manager to address service provision
  • challenges.

    Documentation Reporting :

  • Maintain accurate records of participant progress and employment outcomes.
  • Document one-on-one coaching sessions in participant files.
  • Complete billing, progress reports, and other required documentation in a timely manner.
  • Competencies :

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse
  • populations.

  • Knowledge of the criminal justice system and employment barriers faced by justice-
  • involved individuals.

  • Experience in job development, case management, workforce development, or related
  • fields.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple
  • priorities.

  • Knowledge of community resources and ability to build employer partnerships.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently while collaborating within a team
  • setting.

  • Passion for workforce development, social justice, and empowering individuals to
  • succeed.

    Requirements : Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in workforce development, human services, social work, criminal
  • justice, or a related field (preferred).

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in job development, case management,
  • employment services, workforce development, or reentry programs.

  • 2-3 years of experience with job coaching, resume writing, and interview preparation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and case management
  • software.

  • Ability to analyze job market trends and align employment opportunities with participant
  • needs.
