Job Summary
This position involves essential duties for treating patients according to the physician's orders and departmental policies. The role requires independent work in all acute and critical care settings while consulting with physicians and other personnel to make informed treatment recommendations. Candidates must possess the skills to treat patients across all age groups, including infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

We also offer attractive sign-on bonuses for eligible full-time positions : $7,500 for Direct Care Respiratory Therapists with one year of experience, and $5,000 for those with less than one year experience, along with being licensed in South Carolina. Accountabilities
Supervisory / Management Responsibility
This role does not include management responsibilities and reports to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.
Minimum Requirements
Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program recognized by the American Medical Association or eligible for licensure in South Carolina, or a senior graduating in the next 3 months.
Required Certifications / Registrations / Licenses
Must hold or be eligible for a South Carolina Respiratory Care Practitioner license, BLS certification required, and maintain NBRC credentials. Individuals hired before June 2016 may be Certified Respiratory Therapists. Those hired from June 2016 onward must pass the Therapist Multiple Choice Exam at the Registered Therapist cut score and complete the Clinical Simulation Exam within six months of graduation. Failure to pass the clinical simulation exam in the first six months may result in termination from Prisma Health.
NRP and PALS certification are required in the Children's Hospital before working independently in the NICU and PICU.
Other Required Skills and Experience
Effective teamwork skills are necessary, along with strong communication, computer, and organizational capabilities.
