Canyon seeks a full-time Exhibitions Producer to lead all exhibition planning, fabrication, and production.
Who we are
Canyon is a nonprofit arts venue opening in 2026 on the Lower East Side of NYC, dedicated to the exhibition of time-based media art and performance.
Position Overview
The Exhibitions Producer reports directly to Canyon's Vice President of Art & Technology. This position joins a small team of arts professionals and will be integral to the organization's development as it prepares for a Fall 2026 opening. The Exhibitions Producer leads the exhibitions division, managing a small and hands-on team of three, while sometimes coordinating with outside exhibition designers and fabricators. This role requires exceptional project management skills to define and manage all exhibition timelines and budgets, coupled with a deadline-oriented sense of urgency and a proven knack for cost-control, ensuring efficient execution of Canyon's program. The ideal candidate will bring extensive hands-on experience in time-based media exhibition production, proven leadership abilities, and the organizational expertise to juggle multiple complex projects simultaneously. The job will involve in-gallery, hands-on work alongside your team as needed, and will involve frequent overlap and tight coordination of staff and equipment resources with the institution's performing arts program (which will present some 3-4 performances per month, often utilizing shared staff and equipment resources).
