Pipefitter

Key responsibilities include :
- Piping Installation & Maintenance : Plan, prepare, and install piping and plumbing systems using a wide range of materials, including metal and non-metal pipes. Perform maintenance to ensure systems operate efficiently and safely.
- System Inspection & Testing : Inspect worksites for obstructions, test piping systems for leaks under pressure, and ensure systems meet all safety and quality standards.
- Fabrication & Assembly : Cut, thread, assemble, and install piping using appropriate joining techniques such as threading, soldering, brazing, fused or cemented joints, and welding. Weld pipe supports to structural steel as needed.
- Blueprint & Specification Interpretation : Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, work orders, and instructions to create installation plans and ensure compliance with specifications and codes.
- HVAC & Refrigeration Systems : Install and service refrigeration and air conditioning systems, including piping, compressors, pumps, and controls.
- Safety & Compliance : Adhere to all safety procedures, building codes, EPA, OSHA regulations, and company policies. Properly handle hazardous waste by removing old pipe coverings in accordance with regulations.
- Material Handling & Maintenance : Load, transport, and unload materials and equipment. Perform minor maintenance on tools and machinery to keep operations running smoothly.
- Documentation & Recordkeeping : Maintain detailed safety logs, inspection reports, and installation records.
- Team Coordination : Collaborate with managers and other trades to schedule maintenance, repairs, and installations that minimize disruption to operations.
Qualifications & skills :
Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical systems, piping, or related field.Proficiency in blueprint reading, schematics, and interpreting technical specifications.Skilled in using cutting, threading, welding, soldering, and bending tools, including blowtorches, pipe benders, saws, and welding equipment.Knowledge of welding techniques, especially FCAW, and soldering methods.Familiarity with HVAC systems, chillers, cooling towers, and associated piping.Valid EPA License required.Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.Attention to detail and unwavering focus on safety at all times.Physical requirements :
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.Capable of lifting up to 40 pounds.Visual acuity to inspect piping systems and read blueprints accurately.Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for precise work.Must wear and maintain safety gear, including eye protection, gloves, and ear protection.Why work for Advance Services, Inc. :
