Olin Winchester, LLC (“Winchester”) , considered one of the world’s leading ammunition manufacturers,is seeking a Project Manager - Engineering to work at the US Army’s premier small caliber manufacturing facility located in Independence, MO.
Focus : The Project Manager - Engineering is responsible for proposing, planning, executing, and finalizing larger, complex projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This role ensures projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget, while meeting all technical and quality requirements. The Engineering Project Manager collaborates cross-functionally with engineering, operations, procurement, and quality assurance teams.
Project Manager - Engineering Team Essential Job Functions :
- Direct the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and technical requirements.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including defining the project scope, objectives, deliverables, cost proposals, and timelines
- Lead and mentor project engineering teams, both directly and through cross-functional influence, to drive effective task prioritization, timely execution, and adherence to quality standards in support of project objectives.
- Accurately forecast project costs both as part of the proposal process and during regular financial forecasting activities.
- Monitor project progress, prepare status reports, and communicate updates to stakeholders and leadership.
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
Project Manager - Engineering Team Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degreein Engineering or Engineering Technology.5+ years of experience in project management.Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent.Knowledge of engineering design, manufacturing processes, and quality systems.Proficient in drafting detailed project proposals and conducting comprehensive cost analyses and financial estimations.Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.Must have a valid US Driver’s License.Some travel required, less than 10%.Preferred Qualifications :
PMP certification is a plus.Experience working with small or medium caliber ammunition.Experience working with USG or Department of Defense customers.Experience leading engineering teams to deliver complex projects on time and within budget while maintaining high technical standards.Location-Specific Requirements :
