Newscast Director

WGAL-TV Hearst Televisions NBC affiliate in the Lancaster-Lebanon-Harrisburg-York PA market has an opening for a dynamic full-time Newscast Director for our stations live fast-paced newscasts. The ideal candidate will lead the technical and operational aspects of our live newscasts and daily productions. Some prior industry or relevant military experience will be considered. This role combines the responsibilities of both Technical Direction and Studio Operations requiring broad knowledge of broadcast production activities and strong hands-on skills with studio equipment.

Job Responsibilities :

• Provide creative input and collaborate with producers directors and production crew
• Call and punch newscasts using Grass Valley Ignite automation with precision and accuracy
• Studio operations including but not limited to robotic camera operations moving set pieces lighting and working directly with on-air talent.
• Operate and troubleshoot robotic cameras and related broadcast systems
• Use Windows-based computer software for video playback and recording preparation
• Ability to maintain composure under pressure while collaborating to quickly resolve unanticipated issues
• Employee will be responsible for clean technical execution and the overall look of the newscast
• Other duties as assigned by the Broadcast Operations Manager

Flexibility to adapt to a schedule including mornings evenings weekends and holidays based on organizational needs special events or unforeseen circumstances as required
