Description
Job Duties
- Assist HVAC Technicians in installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems.
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance tasks such as cleaning coils, changing belts, cleaning ducts and changing air filters.
- Conduct leak searches, pump down a system, check refrigerant levels and assist with refrigerant recovery.
- Assist HVAC Technicians with cutting and fitting piping, ducting, or insulation.
- Transport tools and materials to and from the job site.
- Prepare work areas by removing debris and ensuring safety measures are in place. Set up ladders and scaffolding in work areas.
- Clean up after jobs, remove waste materials, and ensure the site is tidy and safe.
- Clean, organize and maintain tools and equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, Certifications :
High school diploma required or equivalentRelatable work experienceValid NC driver's license requiredEPA certification desiredWork on weekends or be on call as neededKnowledge, Abilities and Skills :
Have a general knowledge of HVAC systemsHave a general knowledge of Line voltage and low voltage circuitsBe able to work on your feet for prolonged periods of timeBe able to do basic preventative maintenance tasksBe able to move heavy equipment and motors for repairs and maintenanceBe able to assist other departments as neededBe able to receive assigned tasks and complete them without direct supervision in a timely mannerBe able to work as part of a team to accomplish tasksBe able to communicate clearly with faculty, staff, students and parents around job duties
