Accounts Payable Specialist

We're seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our client's team in the Battery area of Atlanta for a temporary assignment. In this role, you'll support a high-volume shared services environment while ensuring accurate and timely vendor payments, resolving invoice issues, and partnering closely with branch leadership and accounting teams.

What You'll Do

Process daily AP transactions with precision to ensure vendors are paid accurately and on time.

Review and investigate invoices that did not process automatically through the ERP system-resolving gaps before payment deadlines.

Manage high-volume manual GL coding, troubleshoot invoice exceptions, and support branch managers with resolution of outstanding items.

Review detailed payment reporting and approve payments for checks, ACH, and wire transfers.

Reconcile supplier statements, follow up on past-due accounts, and provide urgent vendor resolution to prevent business interruptions.

Process intercompany AP invoices, corporate purchasing card transactions, and consolidated billing for freight, utilities, leases, and more.

Provide required documentation for internal and external audits.

Perform cost corrections for jobs and projects when necessary.

Cross-train teammates and contribute to building a flexible, high-performing AP team.

Support additional accounting functions and special projects as needed.

What You Bring

High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree a plus.

2+ years of direct Accounts Payable experience , ideally in a shared services, high-volume environment.

Strong understanding of 2-way and 3-way PO matching .

Experience with ERP systems- Oracle preferred -and Basware scanning is a plus.

High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Proficiency in MS Office, O365, and 10-key.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.

Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.
