As an Internal Communications Specialist at Room & Board, you’ll play a vital role in engaging current staff members and attracting future talent through thoughtful, authentic communication. Reporting to the Director of Internal Communications as part of the HR team, you’ll support both internal communications and employer—crafting compelling content, managing communication channels, and driving initiatives that strengthen our internal culture and external reputation.

Please note : This is a hybrid role working Tuesday through Thursday in our office. We are not considering remote candidates.

You'll share your talents as an Internal Communications Specialist in the following ways :

Internal Communications

• Manage the editorial calendar for Worklife, our company SharePoint intranet.

Plan, write, and audit content ranging from company news and celebration stories to staff profiles and business updates.

Collaborate with internal partners to share content and ensure site pages are accurate and relevant.

Support intranet page creation and troubleshooting for other content owners.

Gather and report on engagement metrics.

Partner with Technology and third-party vendors to ensure Worklife’s functionality and performance.

HR & Wellness Communications Support

Provide communications support for HR initiatives, wellness programs, Open Enrollment, and other company-wide efforts.

Collaborate with the Brand team to create signage and visual assets for communication across locations.

Staff Member Engagement & Recognition

Support planning and execution of company-wide efforts that build community, celebrate milestones, and foster staff member connectivity.

Belonging & Inclusion Support

Assist in communications and engagement efforts that promote Room & Board’s Belonging & Inclusion initiatives.

Additional Duties

Support internal communications and signage for Central Campus events, community partnerships, and announcements.

Assist with metric tracking and staff member survey efforts.

Contribute to additional communication efforts such as Staff Member Store updates and emergency response messaging.

Employer Brand

Manage development of collateral and signage for recruitment marketing efforts in collaboration with internal partners.

Support content creation and communication strategy for initiatives like Talent Community emails and career fairs.

Collaborate on continuous improvement of the Careers site and candidate experience.

Write and manage content for LinkedIn, Glassdoor, and other employer brand platforms.

Track and report on employer brand and social media metrics.

Support broader employer brand content development for social media in partnership with the Brand team.

Additional Duties

The knowledge, experience, and educations you'll bring as an Internal Communications Specialist :

Bachelor’s degree and 3–5+ years of experience in communications, employer brand, public relations, or recruitment marketing.

Professional writing and editing experience across multiple formats and channels.

Familiarity with M365 tools and SharePoint platform.

Experience supporting internal communications, brand positioning, and staff engagement.

Proven ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate across teams.
