JOB SUMMARY

The Student Advocate assists schools and departments with implementing programs to support students emotional and educational growth; assists in monitoring behavior plans and communicating information to those who are in a need to know such as teachers counselors and administrators; builds appropriate and productive relationships to engage students in the learning environment; and provides updates and information to parents as directed by administration or counselors.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

All positions require selected candidates to be fingerprinted and successfully pass a criminal background check. Additional minimum required qualifications for this position are :

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Speak read write and present professionally analyze and interpret English written and verbal communications
• Ability to operate standard office equipment (e.g. phone copier scanner fax machines etc.)

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The usual and customary methods of performing the jobs functions require the following physical demands : some lifting carrying pushing and pulling up to 30 pounds some stooping kneeling crouching and crawling and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 45% sitting 50% walking and 5% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.
