Job Description :

Leads and mentors a team of PostgreSQL developers providing technical guidance and best practices

Designs and implements efficient data models for the Mid Office application ensuring scalability and performance

Develops and implements strategies for performance tuning including query optimization and index management

Creates and maintains data retention and purging policies balancing regulatory requirements with system performance

Collaborates with cross functional teams to align database design with application requirements and business needs

Implements and manages database security measures ensuring data integrity and compliance with industry standards

Develops and maintains documentation for database structures procedures and best practices

Monitors database performance and proactively addresses potential issues

Participates in code reviews and provides constructive feedback to team members

Stays current with the latest PostgreSQL features and industry trends recommending improvements to our database infrastructure

What we are Looking For

7 years of experience in database administration and development with at least 3 years focused on PostgreSQL

Proven experience leading and mentoring database development teams

Strong understanding of database performance tuning query optimization and indexing strategies

Experience with data modeling and database design in complex high transaction environments

Familiarity with travel industry data structures and processes is a plus

Proficiency in SQL PL pgSQL and experience with database migration tools

Knowledge of data retention strategies and compliance requirements in the travel industry

Experience with database monitoring tools and performance analysis

Strong problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment

Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to explain complex database concepts to nontechnical stakeholders

Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices

Experience with cloud based database services particularly AWS RDS for PostgreSQL is a plus
