Senior Structural Inspector

Senior Structural Inspector positions train and supervise a group of structural building inspectors who inspect commercial and residential structures for compliance with building, land development, and stormwater codes and regulations; investigate, review, and resolve inspection complaints; provide technical information to contractors, builders, engineers, and the public; prepare written reports; perform the more difficult or problematic structural inspections; evaluate work performance of subordinates; and perform other duties as assigned. Notes :

• Eligible benefitted employees originally hired on or after July 10, 2021, will be automatically enrolled in the San Diego City Employees Retirement System (SDCERS).
• Senior Structural Inspector employees may be required to perform work-related duties in high-rise structures.
• Senior Structural Inspector employees must have the ability to negotiate rough, uneven terrain, climb ladders and scaffolding, and work at heights.
