Strength Engineer

Job Summary :

Our client in Saline, MI is looking for a Strength Engineer. This is a contract position.

What You Will Do :

The primary responsibility of this role is to develop strength reliability for static strength and durability performance of vehicle frame, body, and chassis.

• Develop strength and durability performance of vehicle frame, body, and chassis (suspension, axle, bushing) through prediction, evaluation, and analysis.
• Prediction : Analytical (hand calculation, design review) and CAE (FEA, MBD, other simulations) methods.
• Evaluation : Vehicle input load measurements and bench tests (static and fatigue), by collaborating with technician team members.
• Analysis : Data organization and visualization to extract trends, fatigue life calculation, failure analysis, etc.
• Solve problems and develop countermeasures to achieve strength and durability performance targets according to vehicle development schedule.
