About the Position : The Employee Programs Specialist performs professional human resources work in support of compliance-based programs within the Human Resources Division at East Mississippi State Hospital (EMSH). Reporting to the Employee Programs Manager, the incumbent assists in administering the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Workers' Compensation, HR policy management, and reporting functions. This position ensures that all assigned programs are carried out in accordance with East Mississippi State Hospital (EMSH), Mississippi Department of Mental Health (DMH), and Mississippi State Personnel Board (MSPB) policies and that documentation meets state and federal requirements. The role requires strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and consistent application of policy and procedure.
What you'll need to be Successful : To be successful in this role, the Employee Programs Specialist must demonstrate strong knowledge of human resources practices, employment laws, and compliance procedures. The individual should possess exceptional attention to detail, accuracy in documentation, and the ability to manage sensitive information with discretion. Success requires effective communication, sound judgment, and the ability to balance multiple priorities while supporting the mission and values of East Mississippi State Hospital.
Preferred Qualifications : Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree and 3-5 years of experience. Agency preferred qualifications : Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field and three (3) years of related professional HR or program administration experience. Experience in FMLA, Workers' Compensation, or policy compliance within a healthcare or state-government environment.
